How to Start a New Chapter in Your Life

We are going to talk about my favorite topic. The topic that turned my life upside down in the best way possible.


How to start a new chapter in your life!


Starting fresh is exciting, but I'll admit, it can also feel really overwhelming at the same time. Especially when you don't know what the next steps are.


You’re stepping into the unknown, writing a story you’ve never lived before.


I still remember the day I decided to start fresh after hitting rock bottom. I knew something had to change—but I had no idea where to begin. It was terrifying. Then, a month later, someone came into my life and showed me exactly how to take those first steps into a new chapter. He guided me through it all, step by step… and eventually, he became my boyfriend!

I know I got lucky—not everyone has someone to walk them through the process like that. But that’s exactly why I’m here for you now.


You don’t have to do this alone. I’ve got you!

Alright, let's get started! Here are 10 things you need to kick off your next chapter with purpose, clarity, and a little spark of excitement.

1. A Clean Slate


Let’s Marie Kondo this life of yours.


Clear out the old to make space for the new. Whether it’s decluttering your closet, your digital files, or even your mindset, let go of anything that doesn’t serve your next chapter.



2. A Fresh Mindset


A new chapter requires new thoughts. Replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones.


Tell yourself, “I’m capable, I’m worthy, and I’m ready.” (Say it out loud if you need to—it feels cheesy but works wonders!)



3. Clear Intentions


Set some goals for this new chapter. What do you want to achieve? How do you want to feel? This gives you a roadmap and a direction through the unknown.


Be specific but leave room for surprises. One of my favorite sayings is "When you make a plan, God laughs."


We can't always know what life has in store for us. So definitely have your plan, but always be open to new adventures that may come along the way!

4. A Vision Board or Journal


Manifest your new chapter visually or through words. Create a Pinterest board, print out inspiring quotes, subscribe to get my easy-to-use vision board (hint hint!), or journal your dreams. Seeing your intentions in front of you makes them feel real and actionable.


I highly recommend these journals. They are beautiful and super durable!

5. A Plan for Action


Dreams are great, but actions make them happen. Break your goals into small, doable steps.


Want a new career? Start with refreshing your resume. Looking for personal growth? Sign up for that yoga class you’ve been meaning to try, but never got the chance to attend (keep an eye out for my upcoming Foundations of Flow yoga course!).

6. Curiosity About What’s Next


Approach this new chapter with curiosity instead of fear. Ask yourself, “What exciting things could be waiting for me?” 


Wondering is half the fun, and it opens your mind to possibilities you hadn’t considered. Some of my best ideas came to me while sitting around and daydreaming about all the possibilities!



7. Supportive Habits


Your habits are the building blocks of this new chapter. They are what make your dreams a reality. The best part is that there are so many different habits that you can choose from! It's just a matter of choosing the ones that align with your new journey.


For me, my new journey began with becoming physically healthy again. So I picked habits that would support me through that.


Some of the supportive habits I started were through The Fabulous app. Things like drinking water first thing in the morning, or meditating. All stuff I wasn't used to doing.


Others habits involved reconnecting with activities I used to love, like cooking. I used to cook all the time as a kid, and it used to make me so happy! I stopped doing it during my slump, but when I finally decided to get my life together, that was the first habit I went back to.


Now, back to you!


Want to feel healthier? Start with 10 minutes of daily movement. Want to feel more grounded? Meditate for 5 minutes. Small habits lead to big transformations.



8. Encouraging People


Find your cheerleaders—the people who’ll hype you up when you’re doubting yourself.


Maybe it’s a best friend, a mentor, or even a community group. Surround yourself with those who believe in your new beginning.



9. A Healthy Dose of Courage


Starting something new can be scary.


Acknowledge the fear, but don’t let it hold you back. Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s moving forward despite it. You’re braver than you think.



10. A Sense of Adventure!


New chapters are an adventure, not a to-do list. Embrace the uncertainty, the ups and downs, and the unexpected moments.
